Guest Guidelines

Welcome Guests & Renters of Saddle Lake Cottages!

We’re glad you’re here and hope you enjoy your time at beautiful Saddle Lake. To help ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful experience for everyone, please take a moment to review the following important lake guidelines:

🚤 Boating & Water Safety

  • Follow established boat traffic flow (counterclockwise around the lake).

  • Maintain safe speeds—especially near shorelines and docks.

  • Keep a safe distance from swimmers, paddlecraft, and anglers.

  • Watercraft must comply with all Michigan boating laws.

Learn more about the state's boating rules—operator age and training requirements, speed limits, life jacket rules, no-wake zones, and more—on the Michigan DNR Rules & Regulations page.

🛶 Courtesy & Noise

  • Keep noise levels respectful, especially in the early morning and evening.

  • Music and gatherings should not disturb neighbors, on and off the water.

🌙 Light Pollution Awareness

  • Use only necessary outdoor lighting at night—turn off lights when not needed.

  • Shield lights downward to preserve the night-sky and minimize disturbance.

  • Avoid bright, continuous lighting near the shoreline.

🏠 Renters, Please Note

  • Your host may have additional house rules—please follow them.

  • Treat the lake and neighborhood as you would your own.

Let’s all work together to keep Saddle Lake clean, safe, peaceful—even under the stars—for everyone.

Thank you and enjoy your stay!
